Myeongdong Korean Restaurant – Strathfield, Sydney

I don’t frequent this area, so when the opportunity arose I decided to check this Korean restaurant out with some of my friends. It had really good reviews and everyone was excited by the number of side dishes they offered. We arrived early and did not have to wait too long but there was a massive queue when we left, even though the rain was pouring!

It’s a casual restaurant with a no-frills, relaxed atmosphere. The menu had a good selection of dishes, with the option for individual mains or a hotpot to share. Each diner has to order a dish. We decided on the seafood pancake, pork and kimchi stew, and stir-fried marinated beef.

True enough, the side dishes lived up to the hype.
Seafood pancake. This was done well and the portion was generous.
Pork and kimchi stew. Had a good amount of pork, kimchi and rice cake. Was just a tad bit too sour for my liking but that’s just my preference.
Stir fried marinated beef. This was delicious and my favourite one among the dishes we tried.

This was a great first experience and my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Good flavours and great value for money. We will definitely be back!
